Our Impact Report

Our ambition for sustainable development across the business is one thing.  Achieving it is another. Some areas of our business require more immediate focus than others. To fully understand where to focus our efforts, we conducted a Materiality Assessment of the key impacts that we have as a business.

This highlighted material areas for improvement and allowed us to set specific targets for reducing these impacts. The impact report was born. To find out more about our journey, our goals and achievements, click here.

BCorp

We pressed the button on our B Corp submission in July 2022. The culmination of 18 months’ work; a lot of learning, measuring, litter picking, carbon foot-printing – you name it! The decision to embark on this process was taken because we want to formalize our efforts and identify areas where we can improve the business. The B Corp accreditation provides the best framework to do this. Watch this space!

Industry Advocacy

We are signatories of the Harper’s Sustainability Charter which is designed to help galvanize, share and drive best practice throughout the drinks trade. We are also founding members of the Sustainable Wine Round table, created to accelerate sustainable action in the wine industry.

Together we can make a difference.

Environmental impact of our operations

This was considered a top priority by all stakeholders and an area where we have the most influence.

We have assessed the environmental impact of all our business operations and re-evaluated our approach to own brand packaging. In addition, we have improved the way we communicate about what we are doing and our plans for making improvements in the future.

Environmental Impact of our Suppliers

We have created a culture of collaboration with our supply base to encourage and even incentivise making positive changes through the supply chain. New suppliers must meet minimum standards and we work with every supplier to make improvements within the vineyard, reduce water, energy and waste usage, reduce environmental impact of packaging and formalize senior management commitment to sustainability principles.

Supply Chain Social Impact

We work closely with partners in our supply chain to gather information and create minimum standards for all stages. All supplies must sign up to our Ethical, Social and Environmental Policy, and own label suppliers must be a member of Sedex.
