North South Wines launches new affordable Organic range

July 10th, 2019 - North South Wines, one of the UK’s fastest growing wine agencies, is delighted to announce the launch of its new ‘Amigo de la Tierra’ range of keenly priced, organic and vegan-friendly Spanish wines.

The first two wines in the ‘Amigo de la Tierra’ range are a zingy and refreshing 100% Verdejo and an aromatic and vibrant blend of Tempranillo and Syrah, both from La Mancha.

“We are excited to launch our new ‘Amigo de la Tierra’ range”, explains Joy Edmondson, Buying & Marketing Director at North South Wines. “These great value organic and vegan-friendly wines are bang on trend, as the environmentally savvy consumer increasingly seeks out wine with ethical, organic and sustainable credentials.”

“We’ve been pushing organic wines since we first launched North South Wines back in 2014, as we knew there would be an increase in demand. We have been proven right with organic BWS now growing at 21% and organic wine sales predicted to grow a further 50% by 2020 (IWSR November 2018).”

North South Wines is also at the forefront of the rapidly growing ‘Vegan Revolution’. With the number of vegans set to triple at current growth rates, meaning 1 in 5 Brits are expected to be vegan by 2020, North South Wines has committed to 70% of its complete portfolio being vegan-friendly by 2021.

The Amigo de la Tierra 100% Verdejo is well balanced and refreshing, made using no oak, from trellised grapes grown on sandy, flat vineyards in Manzanares, near Ciudad Real.

The Amigo de la Tierra Tempranillo (70%) and Syrah (30%), vibrant with aromas of dried herbs and black pepper, is made without oak ageing, from bush vine grapes grown on gently rolling silt and sand terrain in Corral de Almaguer, Toledo.

“Our new ‘Amigo de la Tierra’ range ticks so many boxes for the independent and on-trade sectors,” comments Edmondson. “The wines are certified organic, they are vegan-friendly, the packaging is stylish and contemporary, and the wines are very attractively priced. What’s not to like?”

Both wines are now in stock in the UK and available to the trade via North South Wines. The Amigo de la Tierra Organic Verdejo 2018 is expected to retail at around £7.50 and the Amigo de la Tierra Organic Tempranillo/Syrah 2018 at around £7.50.
