North South Wines champions sustainability with webinar for independent merchants

North South Wines is hosting a webinar for independent merchants to explore the most effective ways to improve sustainability within their businesses. In bringing together a panel of sustainability experts from across the wine trade, the webinar aims to provide industry-leading insight and actionable ideas that will be of use to any independent merchant. The discussion will cover the supply chain in full – from grape to glass – and will give an overview of the UK supply chain sustainability issues.

The webinar, which will take place at 11am on Tuesday 25th April, will look into sourcing sustainably, cultivating constructive relationships with distributors and highlighting areas for making change within one’s own business. Each of the panellists represents a different link in the supply chain and is active in promoting sustainability both within their business and the wider wine community. Collectively, the group offers a wealth expertise: from implementing pioneering sustainability initiatives in the winery to founding the world’s only sustainability-focussed independent membership organisation to making a business fit for B Corp accreditation.

Looking ahead to the event, host Tim Carlisle said, “Improving sustainability in the wine trade is more important than any one business and requires a collective effort: from the people growing the grapes through to those putting the bottle in the hand of the end consumer. In organising this webinar, we wanted to get the insights from people leading the way across the industry and hear real-life examples that can help independent merchants, from sole traders to large wholesalers, make impactful changes to their businesses.”
