Rounding off what has been an exciting year for North South Wines; managing director Kim Wilson has made Drinks Retailing ‘100 Most Influential People in Wine, 2021’ this year, improving on last years’ position.
The magazine compiles its list of the ‘most dynamic and respected personalities shaping the UKs wine trade’ annually and this year includes big names such as Miles Beale, chief executive, Wine & Spirit Trade Association and head of BWS for Waitrose, Pierpaolo Petrassi.
After taking the company past it monumental milestone of £100million in sales in March, the fact that Wilson firmly secured her place on the list at number 43 comes hardly as a surprise.
Wilson has shown exemplary leadership to her team and her clients and has taken them through some tumultuous months with confidence and energy whilst at the same time managing to grow the business.
More to come from Kim Wilson
“It’s not the first time I’ve made the list in Drinks Retailing,” says Kim, “And I don’t intend for it to be the last. We’ve got some bold plans for the company in the months ahead that will put North South Wines firmly on the map and with the backing of my fantastic team, I may even improve my position next year. I really owe this accolade to them.”
Since bypassing the £100million in sales mark in March 2021, North South Wines has pledged to become one of the first UK wine distributors to become B-Corp accredited. B-Corp certification guarantees that a business measures its environmental and social impact and commits to transparency.
At the same time, the company has undergone a visual rebrand in recent months and has launched a new website. This is all alongside continuing o sourcing and supplying great value wines that UK wine consumers love.
