New Zealand

New Zealand is the world's southern most wine producing country. Vines were first planted in New Zealand in the early 19th Century but it wasn't until the 1970's that wine production really took off. Today the country's wine production is dominated by its grassy Sauvignon Blancs and Pinot Noir, but it is also carving a niche for itself with a range of aromatic whites which thrive in the country's cool climate. Waimea Estates in Nelson has a fantastic range of wines, which has seen the winery be awarded many trophies over the years.
