North South Wines showcases its full portfolio of sector specific ranges to the trade one year after launch. The company which launched in spring 2014 is a specialist wine distribution company, part-owned by three wineries and provides agency distribution agreements for an additional 20 + wine estates from across the globe. The company’s aim is to provide a balance between direct supply and agency business to build a long term multi-channel distribution business.
North South Wines range includes an impressive line-up of family owned wineries including De Bortoli, Waimea Estates, The Wine People, Luis Felipe Edwards, Francois Lurton, La Gioiosa, Finca La Emperatriz (Rioja) and many more, all of which will be on show at LWF 2015. The company also plans to showcase its new Spanish range including Quinta de Aves, a small boutique Spanish winery in La Mancha who are in the process of gaining Pago status, and wines from Cariñena, Rias Baixas and Priorat.
North South Wines has ranges dedicated to Independents and regional wholesalers, impulse and multiple grocers. “We’re a new company but with the decades of experience we have of each specific trade channel, we knew from outset how to cater specifically for each trade channel, and with this in mind we have sourced ranges from our producers which allow us to do exactly that,” says Joy Edmondson, Brand and Buying Director.
Kim Wilson, Commercial Director adds: “The last year hasn’t been just about sourcing the right wines, we needed to make sure we had the right people in place with the right experience. We wanted to ensure that our customers knew we had an in-depth knowledge of their sector – our independent and regional wholesaler team have 28 and 31 years’ experience each! Knowing how important online is and how fast the sector is growing, we have a dedicated online specialist to help drive our business in this channel. Impulse is a key sector for us, and a channel close to my heart, having started out there myself and I continue to look after it today, alongside the major multiples with Joy. The Impulse channel continues to grow for us, so we’re in the process of recruiting for extra resource there too.”
