August 12th, 2020 – North South Wines is delighted to announce the launch of La Gioiosa 0.0%, the brand-new, completely alcohol-free sparkling from La Gioiosa, one of the leading premium Prosecco brands in UK retail.
The addition of La Gioiosa 0.0% into North South Wines’ growing portfolio of low and no products demonstrates the agencies commitment to and leadership in the category.
La Gioiosa 0.0% is an alcohol-free Sparkling alternative made by La Gioiosa winemaker Stefano Gava with 100% Glera grapes. The process used to produce La Gioiosa 0.0% is different from de-alcoholised wine; whole grapes are put into a pneumatic press for soft pressing and the resulting must, after a first racking, is placed into temperature-controlled tanks at 0%, where it remains until it is used for the production of 0% sparkling. CO2 is added gently to ensure a fine perlage. The end result is a sparkling alternative which retains lovely white flower and golden apple aromas but which is also lower in calories than most zero alcohol offerings. At just 22kcal per 100 ml it can fit into a health conscious lifestyle.
“The launch of La Gioiosa 0.0% is very timely,” explains Kim Wilson, Managing Director at North South Wines. “We expect consumers to re-assess their way of life post-lockdown and wellness will be a key priority. Thanks to our experience with the successful Belle & Co. and Black Tower brands, we know the 0.0% market well and we believe there are cross references with the La Gioiosa shopper, who might want to limit their Prosecco intake but still have a rewarding La Gioiosa experience.”
La Gioiosa 0.0% will further bolster North South Wine’s comprehensive portfolio of low and no products, which includes popular brands such as Belle & Co, Black Tower Low Alcohol and the De Bortoli Very Cautious One, all stocked in major supermarket chains.
Based in Treviso in the heart of ‘Prosecco country’ and owned by the Moretti Polegato family, award-winner La Gioiosa is one of the leading premium prosecco brands in UK retail. La Gioiosa has gathered a loyal following amongst British consumers which has translated into an increasing distribution network and sales growing consistently ahead of the market over the last 3 years.
La Gioiosa 0.0% will initially be available on-line via Amazon and specialist on-line retailers Wisebartender, DryDrinker and Vino Fine. It will then launch into Ocado in September. The UK RRP is £6.00.
